A VT professor shared that the NCAA is interested in expanding the tournament. The ACC is not supporting that expansion until/unless questions are answered regarding the selection of the participating teams, the expected sites for the first round games, etc. Seemingly, the NCAA has a burr under its saddle regarding the ACC. That may explain how Connecticut, the number two seed in the women's tournament is hosting the region and NC State, the number one seed has to travel there. That may be why the seeding of the VT teams on both the men's and women's side was not reflective of their performance, and other deserving teams were either left out of the tournament or penalized with unfair seeds. It will be interesting to see if this bias continues for baseball and softball tournaments. Hopefully, the ACC commish will speak out - but he'll have lots of opposition - especially from the Big10 and the SEC. Also, there seem to be many posters on TSL who are never willing to give VT credit for their performances. When we have a good year, its always because the ACC was down. I was disappointed that we lost our first round games in the NCAAs. However, we won the ACC in men's basketball and performed at a level rarely seen in tournament play. The ACC wasn't/isn't down - the Hokies were just outstanding!
